Miranda’s swan cookie

At last, the promised post about one of my favorite cookies. When I was little, before we moved, my family had a Thanksgiving tradition of going to a restaurant called the Whistling Swan. I don’t know if it even still exists, but the fond memories make swans a nostalgic motif for me. Anyway, onto the fun stuff!

Camp layout

Here is my camp layout for this cookie.

The cookie items are mostly congregated in the top left area, but I do have some of the winter tree borders down on the fence line. The foreground area is actually mostly items from Ione’s starry cookie, but the little swan statues go nicely with it.

Here are some shots of the swans in the foreground area. Top one is at night, bottom left is sunset, and bottom right is day.
Here’s a more creative collage of shots. It took me a ridiculously long time to find a composition I was really happy with.
Here are some outtakes from earlier versions of the layout.
And here’s a shot that shows the whole top left area a bit more clearly. This is also from an older version but the difference from the final layout is minimal.

Cabin layout

This cookie is really better suited for the camp because so many of the items are big. I ended up going with a fairly simple layout that allows for easy navigation to talk to animals.

The red stage curtains combined with all the white and gold of the cookie items gives it a very Christmassy feel that I like very much.

This is a slightly more crowded cabin layout that I ultimately scrapped in favor of the first one.

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did making it, and I’ll see you next time for some holiday craft fun!
