Short and Sweet WTF

Is it possible to complete a Pocket Camp garden event in less than a day? Short answer: yes—but you’ll need a lot of flower food.

Lately the Pocket Camp events are featuring series I have already collected, so I haven’t been hustling too much to complete them. Unfortunately for me, there is one resource that is almost always in short supply once you reach a certain point in the game: sparkle stones.

Fortunately, the garden event bonus tasks are a great source for both sparkle stones and timed material. It being the beginning of the month, there is conveniently a garden event ongoing. Not so conveniently, by the time I remembered this, there was only one day left on the event.

Never one to back down in the face of my need for sparkle stones, I decided to see if it was possible to complete the event in that limited time, and I am delighted to report that I was successful.

However, disclaimer: I went into it with a stash of 800-some odd flower food, which is almost definitely the main (if not only) reason why.

If you don’t have a conveniently hoarded stash of flower food, you’ll have to do your best using the Lloid Fertilizing Service, which uses leaf tickets. It takes 1 leaf ticket to completely grow one plant—meaning it will take 20 leaf tickets for each full crop of plants.

Absolute best case scenario, it will take ten crops to collect enough creatures to complete the basic tasks, but in reality, it will take at least twelve, and more realistically, in the vicinity of fourteen to fifteen, because a creature isn’t guaranteed to be attracted to every single plant in a crop.

At a cost of 20 leaf tickets per crop, that means you’re looking at a total outlay of 200-300 leaf tickets.

The good news is, the bonus tasks—the ones that reward sparkle stones and timed material—count the creatures you’ve already caught towards your progress. That means that once you’ve completed the basic tasks, you’ll automatically get an influx of rewards (mostly sparkle stones, but who’s complaining? Not me!).

Whether or not you consider the cost worth it is entirely subjective. For someone who really wants the items in the event series and is close to missing them, it would probably be worth it to use that many leaf tickets. Conversely, someone who already has the items or doesn’t care for them much would probably consider it a waste.

In my case, I was destitute of sparkle stones but had a surplus of flower food, and that was a worthwhile trade for me. But if I hadn’t had that flower food stockpile, I would most likely have waited to get sparkle stones from somewhere (?) else. Leaf tickets are easier to get in Pocket Camp Complete than they were in the live service game, but it is still wise not to use them frivolously.
